Memories & Dreams is the great
debut CD from the sweet easy-listening
voice of DIANNE LINDSAY. Now why
does she sound so familiar? Oh yes!
Dianne is the eldest daughter of
country legends REG LINDSAY and
HEATHER McKEAN (and yes, niece of
the great SLIM DUSTY.) Dianne has
all the charm that her heritage
promises. (Much like cousin ANNE
KIRKPATRICK, but without the vibrato.)
Dianne has taken many tracks from
the family repertoire, including
the title inspiration Beautiful
Memories & Beautiful Dreams
by Dad Reg and Local Mary Magdalene
by Aunty JOY McKEAN, as well as
Bushland Sweetheart (Reg) is absolutely
lovely. Dianne is quite an accomplished
songwriter herself, with the sweet
sad Teardrops On The River, reminiscences
of the past in Old Brown Guitar
Case and the mother’s prayer 18
Years Of Age Today. Once again,
MARC LEA is responsible for producing
a fabulous album; but Dianne, why
did we have to wait so long?

This much waited debut CD from
Dianne, produced by Marc Lea with
songs being arranged by Dianne &
Peter Simpson using session muso’s
such as Marc Lea, Lawrie Minson,
John Colville, and Dave Foster to
support Dianne’s vocals and Peter’s
guitar &Marcus Greene’s bass.
Dianne has some top originals here
such as her song “Teardrops on the
River” “18th Years Of Age Today”.
Cover versions of her Dad’s “Bushland
Sweetheart” & “Beautiful Memories
& Beautiful Dreams”. This lady
is an all round country singer who
can handle a modern country tune
along with the traditional style
such as the Jimmie Rodgers “Hobo
Meditation” which is included. One
of my favourite tracks is Dianne’s
version of “Local Mary Magdalene”
a song written by Auntie Joy with
a story about an event in her mother’s
life. Have a listen and you will
love this lady.
