Hi
and welcome to my album
‘ Heartbeat Of Australia ’.
It’s full of songs about
Australia and its’ people, things
that are dear to us and things that
make us truly ‘Australian’. My thanks
go to all of you, to everyone for
their support and interest in my
music, to the radio presenters who
play country music and to those
who come to our shows.
An extra special thanks to our friends
who have helped me in so many ways
over the years, you’ve all helped
make this album possible. It was
a pleasure to have the opportunity
to record ‘Long Road Home’ with
my cousin, Anne Kirkpatrick. Written
by my auntie, Joy McKean, and with
my mum’s (Heather McKean) old Gibson
guitar used on the track, it’s a
real family combination.
The duet with my Dad (Reg. Lindsay)
on ‘Country All The Way’, has been
a long-held dream for me and thanks
to the outstanding commitment, hard
work and talents of Rod and Jeff
McCormack, the dream of having this
duet as part of the album became
a reality.
Many thanks also to radio announcer,
Ray Hadley, whose voice you will
recognise calling the race on the
track ‘Gai Waterhouse’.
I do hope you enjoy ‘Heartbeat
Of Australia’ and my sincere
thanks to my family and to my wonderful
husband, Peter Simpson, for their
belief in me and I truly couldn’t
do it without you all.
Yours
in country,
Dianne.
